The Princess Dress Cafe

The eternal question for millennials in their late twenties seems to be ‘what am I doing with my life?’ How do I get my finances in order? Why am I not where my parents were in life when they were my age? You know… the big questions. Then you decide it’s time to start acting like a “real’ adult, and you resolve to solve all of your earthly problems overnight.

Well this weekend that was NOT me! Instead of focusing on how a fully functioning adult should behave in society, this nearly 29-year old channeled her inner five years old. In addition, I  decided to carry out a real tea party. And yes, I was dressed like a princess. Furthermore, I even wore a crown.

I met up with fellow blogger, Fiona for a photo shoot. We had decided to check out the mural village near Dongdaemun, which was awesome.

After the shoot, we went to the Princess Diary Café near Ewha Women’s University. There is a pretty good selection of tea and coffee for you to choose from. However, since the dresses are white you have to finish your drinks before dressing up. Fiona and I both ordered some hot green tea served in adorable Japanese style teapots and cups.

The cafe has several different princess dresses at the café which you can rent and they range in price from about 30,000\ to 40,000won. After you have selected your dress from the large and intimidating closet you go into the dressing room. Finally, you are fitted into the dress and then you select your very own princess crown!

Once you are princess ready you have free rein over the café to take photos, there are several props for you to use in the pictures as well. Furthermore, we stayed at the café for about 2 hours and paid about 70,000 won.

This was a really fun way to spend the afternoon but being a little pricey, It’s probably something I would only do once. Finally, it was also really nice to be able to connect with another blogger and enjoy some of Seoul’s wackiness.
